Prices & Policies Please read the policies below before placing an order. By ordering a commission, you agree to the policies of this studio outlined on this page and affirm that you have read, understand, and agree to the outlined terms of sale. The following are prices for custom model horse paintwork. Please see the Portraiture page for pricing on pet portraits. Paintwork also includes primer and sealing varnish. Prepping (seam sanding, pinhole filling etc) is not included in the paintwork prices and is at additional cost (see below). Turnaround time is guaranteed within 4 weeks from the time the model is in-hand at the studio. I will notify you once I have your model in hand. Most pieces take 1-2 weeks.

Payments
I require payment in full for all micro sized commissions. For stablemate, curio, and traditional, I require at least 50% of the paintwork price up front as a down payment to start your horse. Paypal is the only form of payment that I currently accept. All down payments are non-refundable. The remaining bill is due when the model is complete. Models will not ship back until the bill is paid in full. If it is 2 months after the model is complete and the bill is still outstanding, all payments and models are declared forfeit and the client will be banned from future orders. At that point I reserve the right to keep your deposit and sell your horse to recoup service costs. Once a commission slot is booked, the model to be painted must be shipped to the address provided by the artist within 3 weeks. If the model is not shipped out within 3 weeks of booking, the commission slot will be cancelled and your deposit will be retained by the artist. (A tracking number for the model showing a date of postal acceptance will need to be provided by the client if the model is not received in this window and an inquiry is made regarding shipment). If the model has tracking that shows shipment in this window, the commission will not be canceled. Unfortunately, I have had issues in the past with clients not sending models- this delays my turnaround times and alters my bookings, which is why this term has to be made. Please note, commissions are a binding contract, so please do not order work from me if you do not agree to these terms.
Returns/Refunds
Due to the custom nature of the work, all sales are final. Once your model is complete you will be sent detailed pictures of the finished piece for final approval before shipping. I want all of my clients to be happy with the models I paint for them. If there are any minor adjustments that need to be made at that time, please let me know.
Shipping
All shipping costs are the responsibility of the client. The shipping costs for return shipping to the buyer will be billed with the remaining balance after the model is complete. I wrap models securely, but am not responsible for damages that may occur to the model during shipping transit. I require all pieces going out of the studio to have additional shipping insurance purchased for this reason. I also recommend all clients buy insurance for the model's journey to me in the event they become broken in transit. If your model arrives broken, I will notify you and send pictures of the damage. I offer repairs on a limited basis, at additional cost.
Portrait Models
I happily do portraits of beloved pets. If you would like a model custom painted to look like your horse, please provide clear good quality photos which best represent the animal's color as well as any special markings. Generally, the more photos the better.
Live Show Quality/LSQ
LSQ is a very subjective term and I therefore cannot provide an LSQ guarantee on any piece. While customs of mine have placed well and won NAN cards in the past, I still cannot provide any guarantee of show prospects as this standard can vary wildly by both show and judge.
Alterations & Copyright
I do not mind if any of my pieces are altered (once sold its your model and you are free to do with it what you like!). However if the model is altered and sold, these alterations must be disclosed as the work of a third party. Feel free to make custom bases for any models that I have created.
Sales photos
I do not mind if you would like to use my photos of your piece for your own sale ad. Please state photo credit to my studio in your sale ads. I reserve the right to post pictures of any model that is in-progress or completed anywhere online.
All prices and policies outlined above are effective on any models ordered on or after 8/25/2020. Policies are subject to change at any time and updated versions will be posted on this page.
