Palomino, buckskin, cremelo and perlino. Dilute coat colors in horses are caused by a mutation of the MATP gene. One copy of the gene results in palomino, buckskin, and smoky black coats, while two creme genes produce cremelo, perlino, and smoky cream coloration.
